Email Verification when registering.

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was wondering, is there anyway to require the customer to verify their email address when they register an account? As my site is right now, I can register a new account with any made up email address, and than place orders. Paypal also recommends verifying email addresses. Maybe I just missed it when I was configuring my site.

Thanks!

I agree with everyone here! I also would like this for my prestashop! Maybe this thread can be used as a signature support to add the feature in the next version. Also is it possible to add some way the form can tell that the email is a fake? because the eamil verafacation is an extra step and can be a deturante, pain in the butt for some. If the form could tell some how that the email is a fake and at the time of forum fill out request user to input real eamil. That would be great

I did a little search on this subject and there are free scripts out there that one can use with in a mudule to do this! You have to edit database table and add php script. It seems possible! But I don't have to tech no how!
