Modules not displayed on my front

Hi.

I have just installed my first shop and I am new to Prestashop.

 

I can not understand why the default modules such as chart, etc. does not show on my front end. How do I place the cart, menus, textboxes etc. on my shops frontend.

in your back office you have a list of all available modules under modules -> modules.

just install what ever you want.

in modules -> positions you can place/remove modules in specific areas (left column/right column/header/footer etc....)

But ... something is not working:

 

e.g: the module "CartBlock" is installed under moduls>modules.

I go to modules>position.

I seach for "CartBlock" - I find it (among a long long list saying "no module for this hook" (why?).

I hit the edit button for "CartBlock" and it says:

Module: CartBlok,

hook into: "Header of page" known as "display header" (written in grey and I cannot change it).

 

And still: CartBlock does not show on my frontend of www.vikingfamilyn.net

 

I don't under stand this ?

Hi Hellest, if you could, please describe how you installed PrestaShop? Was it through a script install or manually? Is this version 1.5.2?

Well ... during installation, I had a warning " At least one table with same prefix was already found, please change your prefix or drop your database" - I have 1 mysql database on my webhotel, and it has a prefix "exprestashop_" .... Maybe something is wrong here. What do I have to write as a prefix?

 

It is af 1,5 version, I have.

Hello hellest, yes, that seems like it could be the problem. I think it would be worth a try to install prestashop again manually via FTP, into a newly created database. The tables should not be conflicting.
