Rottdoggie
Here's the scoop: I have a product for $34.99. It has a discount applied of -$5.00. Net price (before tax) of $29.99. It has two combinations with no impact on price (audio cd and printed book). When you visit the site as a Visitor, everything appears fine. When you log in as a Customer, the price changes from $29.99 to $30.31...essentially $29.99 + $.32. I have another product for $99.99. It has a discount applied of -$50.00. Net price (before tax) of $49.99. It also has two combinations with no impact on price. When you visit the site as a Visitor, everything appears fine. When you log in as a Customer, the price changes from $49.99 to $53.21...essentially $49.99 + $3.22. I have all three groups set to "display price without tax". Any idea what is happening here? Evanion
have you entered the discount with a negative value (ie value='-5'), or with a positive value (ie value='5')?
Rottdoggie
I entered a positive $5.00 and $50.00 for the discounts. They are working correctly when you are not logged in. After you log in, the prices go up by $.32 and $3.22 respectively. When confirming the settings above, I also noticed the text below the discount box: "The discount is applied after the tax" WHAT?!? I have never heard of discounting after calculating tax. In the US, we are only taxed on what we spend. If we find a $100 shirt on sale for $2.00 we don't pay tax on the $100. Is that unusual compared to other countries? Any developer-types got a handle on the pricing/taxing code? Or is there a setting I'm just missing? Thank you! Rottdoggie
I ran out a few more products in the store to try and understand the code. I added a couple products without combinations. these are just products with discounts. Here are the products and discounts and the resulting PrestaShop pricing: Does anyone see what is happening here? I can't figure it out. Argh... Rottdoggie
I also rechecked the group settings for Visitor/Guest/Customer. All are set exactly the same: Discount (%): 0.00 Price Display Method: Tax Excluded Show Prices: Yes No module restrictions.

ricky11
Did you solve this? I was trying to find a way to increase the price vs discount the price for customer groups.
bside2234
I've been having this issue in both 1.5.2 and 1.5.3. If you use the % discount everything works fine. It's using the $ off that is causing the issues BUT I have tax enabled for Washington state and it only has issues when tax is enabled. I remove the tax and all works fine. aboterf
Has anyone heard about a fix for this? I'm having the same issue on 1.5.3 where the product prices are changing slightly when using a $ amount discount and Tax enabled. If I use % discount with tax enabled there is no issue.
