Configuring Shipping, Multiple Price and Weight Ranges

Recommended Posts

Perhaps doesnt matter / mean much, but after trying to get a decent shipping system working, Its time to abandon Prestacart. I was hoping to replace my OSCommerce store, but will now try others that have better shipping options.

The product seems very good (im not bitching, its free), but shipping is well below par. We cannot even use shipping tables.

Here is my thread:-

http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/208645-shipping-issues-incorrect-location-zones/page__p__1028956#entry1028956

Of course, it could be me, but shipping seems to be acknowledged as a very weak area for Presta.

agreed... you've given up with something which is perfectly achievable, and very simple. Its just basic shipping config. Not sure why you've given up... you just havent set up the shop properly. You'll be kicking yourelf when you find out how easy and simple this actually is.

Thanks - Ive seen that thread and while the UK zones are useful, we ship EU wide.

Ill give it another bash, perhaps something im just not seeing. So to confirm I should be doing 'billing' per weight, assign each item its weight in the product area?

In the carriers section then - I assume I need loads of options, so if I have 10 weight ranges, I need 20 (10 for UK and 10 for EU - I cant combine them, they have different costs)?

Hello Chazaxl, thank you for giving it another shot. In order for us to help you, you would need to give the exact situation you are trying to achieve in shipping. This includes Carrier Configuration, Weight Ranges, Price Ranges, Fee's, Zones etc.

Which shipping carriers have you set up for which zones? What are the price/weight ranges for each carrier for their respected zones?

Also, what version of PrestaShop are you using?

Screenshots of the Shipping/Carrier/Zone/Fees Configuration would also be helpful.

Regards,

Benjamin

Ok, so I have created:-

UK - 0 - 0.999kg

UK - 1 - 1.999kg etc

Now I am trying to figure out why it doesnt seem to be following my 'weight' rules. I have an item that is 15kg, but it offers all the shipping, even those out of weight range. In the product options, should I limit the carriers there? Doesnt make sense, surely I should be able to say 'use all' but then the weight should remove those that are not within scale?

I have started again - I will upload some pics on the weekend when I have a decent connection.

I have created the following:-

For both UK and EU I have small, medium, large and X large weight ranges.

They are 0-1, 1-2,2-4 and 4-25 kg respectively.

Each is zoned to UK = UK and the Europe and Europe non EU as 'Europe'.

I have given each a price range, that works fine.

At the moment what I am not getting is that my weight rules are respected. For a UK shipment of 15kg, it should only offer X Large, but offers all, despite me saying that its 'per weight' in the Carriers > Billing option as well as Shipping > Billing. I know I can reduce the number of carriers in the product page, but why should I if the rules work correctly?

Using 1.5.2.0 version.
