PayPal Live Testing

Hi everybody,

I have given up on trying to make the sandbox paypal work.
Not working in the stable build and not working in the beta.

Now, I would like to ask - how is everybody testing their live paypal accounts?
I mean, even if you were able to make the sandbox work, you still need to do a few live transactions to make sure your customers can pay.
Do you make a payment, and refund yourself?

Are there any particular instructions to configuring this thing to work smoothly that you can share?

I made a few payments with my debit card to myself via paypal and also to my firends paypal account with my paypal account for small amounts.
