RapidFire
Is anyone here successfully using Prestashop on a GoDaddy hosting account? If so, what hosting plan do you have: Economy, Deluxe, or Unlimited?I registered a domain through GoDaddy and it came with an Economy hosting plan for free, but from what it sounds like, Prestashop will not successfully install on these free Economy plans (I tried, and it stalled at step 2): THIS ONLY PERTAINS TO GODADDY HOSTINGI tried to load Prestashop on several of my hosting accounts for testing. However after many attempts on my free hosting accounts and several walk thrus of the installation process. I discovered that I could only get Prestashop to work on paid hosting accounts. On each attempt of the installation the results were the same. On all hosting accounts that were free, the installation froze at the 2nd screen with "optional installation"On both paid hosting accounts the installation was flawless.I don't know if this result is common but it seems that the people getting stuck on page 2 of the installation are on free hosting Could some one please tell me if this is true? I would love to get Prestashop up and running but I've been at a roadblock for over a week now trying to get this hosting server issue figured out. Thanks everyone! mozack
Hi,I'm using deluxe hosting plan (Linux) and i have no problems with presta. I have 6/7 economy plans that i'm not using (they need domains to be activated).I dont think the economy plan is a good idea, yopu will have pub to godaddy in your webpage and for a delux hosting you pay something like 80$ with 150GB of space.I know godaddy is not so friendly with some scripts like other hosting provider, but it is chepeast.Think about a solution for your store, you will find something relly nice for your needs.Best Regards
RapidFire
Thanks, unfortunately I found out that it is true. Prestashop would not install with the free economy hosting that came with my domain, but when I upgraded it to Deluxe hosting for $5.60 for one month, Prestashop installed flawlessly. Do you have your site set up under the root, or did you place it under ...root/prestashop/. I am having problems with permissions or restrictions under payments and modules. I've been working and reading for quite some time to find a solution. I use Godaddy, and wondered if part could be with permissions on their side. Thanks!
