Heremeow
I am stuck on step 3 of the installation.I have called my host supplier (godaddy.com) and everything is fine on their end.I am using Linux and php 5.0.I have entered all my information correctly into the form in step 3 and I still get the error "Database Server is available but database is not found."Why isn't it finding my database? Please provide support in English. Thanks! Patric
You need to manually create the database with PHPMyAdmin or other before completing step 3.Of course, you must give your database the same you type in the "Database name" field.
Heremeow
I already did that.

Dirty Bill
worse, once you get it to connect with the database, it will create the tables, then NOT move to the next step; will stay on 3 and your only option is to nuke the tables and go through it all again...only to stay stuck on step 3. mat.
hi folksi had all troubles discribed above, and find very strange solution, i got it this way: must have a database name max 10 letters long (longer name was problem)just for sure i used the same for dtb password so now i use exactly 10letters long alpha-numeric string for dtb name and passi cannot believe it is really possible (is it????)... but i didnot find any other problem solution, and this is working
Dirty Bill
PresaTeam: how about modify the installer so that when it FINDS the databases already there it just does a quick check that they are up to date, then move on to the next step?
mat. Please verify the login, password, and database server name fields.) independently on real state. There was still this notice although the database server was good. So i would like to say, maybe the install process, or exactly "AJAX CHECK the DATABASE CONNECTION" doesnot work properly (?)
cyberd0g
Firstly I would like to thank MAT for posting his solution which worked find for me!!However, My hosting company uses part of thier customer's domain name as a prefix for the database name.eaxample: if you register www.candystore.com, they will user candysto_ this restrics the dbase name to one character as 10 charactoer is the max for the dbase name. I think this is a security risk for people on a particular host so can PrestaTEAM PLEASE, PLEASE do something about this ASAP??!!

SteveM
I just ran into he same problem with the length of the database name, althougth it did accept more than 10 charactersInitially I used xxxxxxx_prestashop which caused an error. Then I used xxxxxxx_presta and it worked fine.Though like others, I did not get past step 3.BTW I'm using ixwebhosting
kiran
I got the same issue and when I used the host name as part of the user name, for eg...domainname_datbase (database name) and user name as domainname_username. It worked fine, I'm sure this must be the issue with everyone else, who just used the user name without the domainname.~Ravi([email protected])
