the.rampage.rado
I'm currently filling my test installation of Presta 1.5.2 with products and prepping for some beta testing of all functions and design I'll need and I saw that my sitemap.xml is empty. When I open Google sitemap module I can't see any information if I have to manually ping Google when I update my sitemap with cronjob or it does it automatically? If it doesn't could you implement it in next versions of this module because it's very helpful. You could also include ping options for other search engines. Site
Hi, You can add the url of your sitemap within Google's Webmaster Tools (Google Account) Google will then periodically take the .xml file on a regular basis
the.rampage.rado
i'm familiar with GWT but pinging Google after sitemap rebuild is said to get you faster crawling of your updates so I think it's very useful.
Site
Where do you ping Google with the sitemap?
the.rampage.rado
In ZenCart's SitemapXML it's as follow: Sitemap Notification Received Your Sitemap has been successfully added to our list of Sitemaps to crawl. If this is the first time you are notifying Google about this Sitemap, please add it via http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ so you can track its status. Please note that we do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear. So you ping GWT, not google.com
