The settings.inc.php file is created during install, you will not find that file in any downloaded version of Prestashop.

I had just a few minor issues on upgrade, some random pics would not show in FO even though they showed in back office, regenerating thumbnails cleared this up.

The Featured products block had a strange layout in that nothing lined up, clicking reset on module cleared that up.

I received an error on the ps_counties database table but found that this is because version 1.5 has no such table in its database, they have reworked the tax and tax rules area. (disregarded error created no issues)

As with any upgrade you will loose some customization's that you may have done and will have to rework some areas.

Ok, yeah, I though it must get created on install.

The file is created during install. I could upgrade, but with errors messages, and the LINKS of the store are not working.

I tried 2 times, and the same problem. I am doing a research, but maybe the only solution is using an extension to upgrade.

  • 2 weeks later...

First turn force compile on and cache off under preferences performance.

Clear all caches both Prestashop and your browser and see if things clear up.

1.5 smarty cache is located in ..cache/smarty clear both the cache and compile folders, leave any index.php files you might find.

Give a link to your store so we can see if in maintenance mode take off long enough to get help.

I used the one-click install to upgrade version 1.5.0.17 to 1.5.2.0. It seemed to work without any issues/errors. However, I cannot log into my back-end in order to turn off the site maintenance message. I've tried clearing my cache and I am using the password from the db (after some attempts to reset it, which didn't generate any emails). I've tried various browsers too. I've looked at the files via ftp and everything looks fine. I am stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
