Create settings.inc file FAILED

Hello,

I´ve got prestashop 1.5.2.0.

Have a problem, during instalation process (beginning - 0%) occured an error. Create settings.inc file and stopped installation, where should I create this file or what can I do ?. Any solutions for this problem ?

the /config folder has 777 permission ?

Try 755 instead.

 

On step 2, is everything "green" ?

I just got same error message on 1.5.4.1. Any suggestion ?

Do you use Chrome to install? Try using IE (Windows) or firefox (Mac). Heard there is some unresolved problem with chrome prestashop for some people.

 

Otherwise: do you already have a file /config/settings.inc.php ? If so, check permissions (755/777), as Prestashop wants to write inside this file. If it cannot overwrite it (during creation) or cannot open it )during writing) maybe this error occurs...

Hi Pascal,

 

I am a newbie to Prestashop and have the same trouble. But in my case I came till 12% and then installation fails. It happened over 20 times now and my hosting provider is dreamhost.

 

See screen shot attached. I checked the permissions from file zilla and set all folders and files to be at 777

 

Any suggestions on how to get this resolved ?

Your error is different. It has problem creating (all?) the tables. Please first check if you have ANY table in your database created (using phpmyadmin or so).

 

Most probably it's a problem that the host server 'times out' before all tables are created. You should contact your host about this and see if their error logs see something about time out errors.
