Chris04626
Do we really need to buy the PayPal module for $200 to accept credit cards using PayPal Pro? All the other carts have this as a built in feature

Chris04626
What is the $200 module how does that differ from what this does?
Dh42
Presto-changeo has a cheaper one, you should check it out. The paid paypal is if you have a payflow account and accept credit cards on your site without the user being redirected to paypal.

Dh42
Which one do you currently do? What kind of paypal account do you have and how much do you have to pay for it each month?
Chris04626
i have zencart right now and i have a payflow account so i can accept credit cards directly on site. I Pay 30 per month
Dh42
With Prestashop you would have to either buy a module to do that or write one.
Chris04626
wow that is crazy. That should be a standard feature. Appears pretashop is all about making money
Dh42
No, not really. You are getting a better product with Prestashop that has more features. They make money off the the $200 modules, yes. But they do not make anything off of the much cheaper one from Presto changeo. The main thing that sets Prestashop apart from something like Zen cart, is that Prestashops developers are paid to work on the project. That is why it has more features and is more scalable than zen cart.

Chris04626
A customer can order say 4 of one product, they can then decide to ship to either 4 different addresses as gifts or any combination
Dh42
It does not have a module for that. It is a standard feature. http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/prestashop-15/configure-checkout/allowing-multiple-shipping-addresses

Dh42
Zen cart must have a few bad things going for it in your eyes if you have an established shop and you are thinking about moving.

Chris04626
if you buy a module, do you need to rebuy it everytime a software update comes out and you upgrade?
Dh42
Generally no. Most companies give you free updates. The only exception I can think of is if they a bunch of new features to the module, some will make you pay the difference. Like if you bought it for $100 and they add some new features to the next version and charge $125 for it, they will generally make you pay the $25. But most modules are mature enough now where the new featuresare few and far between, because they can do most things already.
