Multi Store setup

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I'm trying my best to use the multi store function but with no success.

I've looked everywhere for some guidance on the forum but can't find anything anywhere.

I've contacted my hosting company to point another domain name to the main website but still not working.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Andy

I'm using multistore and got it all set up and all seems to be working fine. Except now I noticed that when I use www. on any of the shop domains it loads the main default domain. Does anyone know how I can solve this?

main domain: pitmoto.com

shop 1: atvdomain.com

shop 2: dealerwanted.com

If I add www. to the front of any added shop it will redirect to the main pitmoto.com shop.

Any advice on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

Andy,

I tried what you said but it did not work. I also tried your url and it does the same thing. If you use cameratek.co.uk it will redirect to www.tekplanet.co.uk. Yours is doing the opposite of mine. I bet you set up your shop url with the www. And that’s why it’s having the opposite effect. I know because I tired with and without the www.

If you find a fix, please post and I will do the same.

Hello CameraTek, I believe that Multistore can handle as many websites as you need.

Also, considering your out of stock ordering. Try this in your Prefrences/Products

1) Allow ordering of out-of-stock products -no

2)Enable Stock Management - yes

1) Display Remaining quantities when qty is lower than (0)

2)Display available quantities on product page (no)

Try that.

Hope it helps.

Hi Benjamin,

I just deleted everything off the servers and re-uploaded again thinking it was the installation. I've set the site up as I would and with the allow ordering out of stock and its still the same, it wont let me place the order on unless there's stock available.

I then set the site up as you suggested in your post above and it's still the same. It just will not allow me to place an order on unless there's stock available.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Andy

Andy...I just tested this per Benijam's post...

worked great....

You should post screen shot of your preferences-->product

you can set by product (don't see how to do this globally, if there isn't then that's sort of dumb)

which in my testing gives me this:

you should provide screen shots or links, much more helpful than just saying it doesn't work..if you are not getting anywhere on your posts...it's because you do not supply enough good information....now drop and give us 20

I got to 17 and collapsed :)

Finally sorted the stock situation.

For some reason all my products were set to deny orders. Done an update SQL and set them all to default.

I hope I don't have to do that to newly added products as I use an import module, I get around 90 new products a day

Not sure if you can help me out here

I upload a CSV file to the server everyday witch has 26000 products on there, I have two websites running off this file but one of them is restricted to around 2000 products. I'm using multystore on that website where I have full control of the categories to be shown. The categories I want shown on the website is working fine but If I go to the back office and go to the products page all the products on the CSV file are coming up, that means that their visible on the website. If I go to the category page in the back office only the selected categories are showing.

Is there a way of removing the products?

cheers

Andy

I'm not sure if you've managed to solve this yet but it's probably something in your .htaccess file that's redirecting the original domain from www to non www.

You could try adding this at the very start of your htaccess files to redirect the second domains with www to non www before prestashops htaccess does it's magic.

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.example.com
RewriteRule (.*) http://example.com/$1 [R=301]

You'd need to do this for each domain that's being redirected to the main domain. I've not tested it but it should work provided it's put before any other redirects you might have in htaccess
