Moving Test Shop up a level into main site

Hi there,

 

I currently have a test site running in a folder off the back of the existing website. It can be viewed at http://www.jamesofarran.com/shop/

 

My question is that I would soon like to swap the existing website for the Prestashop site which means removing the existing website files and moving the Prestashop site up one directory into the home folder.

 

Can anyone advise on how best to do this? Is it as straightforward as moving the files from the "shop" folder up into the home folder, or are there other things I need to do.

 

I am a relative novice to programming but I am confident at making changes to files.
