sosella
I am using PS 1.4.9 . When I try to upload a 1.3MB image (animated PNG) using the Home text editor module, it says that the file size limit is 300KB. Why is this the case? How can I increase the limit? Dh42
Mainly I think because people don't want to download a file that huge. Plus that format is not supported by all browsers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APNG No Ie, no Safari, no chrome.
sosella
Yes, I know that only firefox supports it, but can I increase the file size limit? Why would Prestashop care how big the file is? Does Prestashop support Animated GIFs?
Dh42
It should somewhat. I usually hardcode things like that in to be honest.
sosella
I am a PS newbie. Do you know where I have to make that change? And what is the nature of the change?
Dh42
Ok, do this, open your modules/editorial/editorial.php file, on one of the first lines, it has the file upload limit see this screenshot http://screencast.com/t/2ckpdFjAESWF change it to what ever you want it to be. clayton29657
prestashop may not care at all but you may care if your page opens slow. Just a thought is all
Dh42
Or the hosting company, when you are serving up a 1.3mb file, it doesn't take a lot of traffic for it to become a strain on a shared hosting environment.
