Still able to view my online store after setting Enable Shop to 'No'

Hi,

 

I installed a new instance of prestashop version 1.5.2.0. I did the following:

 

Go to Preferences -> Maintenance -> Enable Shop set to 'No' -> Click on 'Add my IP' -> Click on 'Save' button.

 

I read a number of documentations and all mentioned this is the way to disable the shop.

 

However, after a few tries, I still able to view my online store from a new instance of web page.

 

Can anybody advise me what have I missed out ?

Hi nancy99

 

Your shop will be in maintenance mode, but you can still see your shop because you added your IP address into the Maintenance settings. This means that whilst it is on 'Maintenance' mode no-one else can view the website except for those IP addresses that you have allowed (in this case yours).

 

If you go back into Preferences -> Maintenance then remove your IP address and save, you will then see that your shop is in Maintenance when you go to the website (just as yours customers would).

oh! Now I understand. I should use another computer to test instead of opening a new instance on the existing computer.
