SSL and PrestaShop

So I just bought a SSL certificate

my hosting provider told me to put whatever I want to be protected in a designated folder named

html_private

 

Is it possible to use this method to set up my PrestaShop with SSL on logout and while I login to my backend ?

Protection of files placed in html_private and SSL protection are two different things. Files in html_private will not be available to public, SSL protects the integrity of communication between the visitor and server. Ask you server admin/hosting provider how to install SSL certificate for your domain.
