Resize uploaded product images to max height or width

Hi there,

 

I know it is possible to specify the sizes of generated thumbnails.

Is it also possible to automatically resize uploaded images to prevent floading of the webserver?

 

I would like when large images are uploaded that the height and width are limited to preserve disk space.
