sshare
Hi everyone, Ive uploaded some new categories by importing a CSV. It gives the following warning for the images: "http://mydomain.com/import/image.jpg" cannot be copied (Where obivously the mydomain, etc. are the proper domain/path/link) I can see the images without a problem in a browser, Ive also set the folder and all the images to have 777 permission, but it still gives me this problem. Where is this coming from? Any help is greatly appreciated. Edited November 14, 2012 by sshare (see edit history)
sshare
Ive tried placing the image folder with the images on a different server/hosting provider and it gives the same error. All the data gets imported fine to the categories but the images will simply not work (I've tried numerous times, so I must be doing something wrong here). sshare
Anyone? I'm stuck because of this.
ihkwyh
I had this issue with past versions. If you use the path to the images on your local machine the upload will work just fine. Use small batches as it is slow going and can cause server timeouts.
sshare
Can you give me an example please Im using the path to the file directly on the server, when you say on your local machine do you mean a path to the files on say the C:/ drive? (Sorry if that's a stupid question).
ihkwyh
Yes the path to the files on you computer. The CSV uploader will handle all the resizing and putting them where it expects to find the later so you only need one image for each view of the product (if using multiple views). sshare
I've tried that and it still doesn't work, try to get it from my F:\ drive, with "F:\work\diagnostic\import\daf.jpg" tried to use "/import/daf.jpg" and also tried it with "../../import/daf.jpg" applying the theory that to get from the CSV file to the import folder I've uploaded you need to go back 2 folders to get to it. But none of it works, I've seen people with problems thta it cannot save but not one has posted up saying it cant be copied, the paths are technically all correct so I assume it's not coming from there, but then again what do I know. sshare
Ok so I just found a fix, found a post where the OP says to move the folder that contains your images to the admin folder (the one you renamed during install). After that the path to the files is simply put like this "imgupload/image.jpg" (my folder is called imgupload) and it now all works, thought I would post it here in case someone else runs into the same issue. I have the same problem in 1.5.4 and your fix dosen't solve the problem. I have tried everything, but not the right thing. Anybody who know the solution?
