Bleep
Hi all. The new prestastore looks awesome. I am just wondering if this is really a good idea. Having a place so that community members can easily add modules for payment will just stop people from releasing these modules for free. Anyone with any thoughts? Dio
It`s not bad or good it's normal. It's up to everyone to decide to sell or give away their modules
Damien Metzger
You can consider that it's a start.PrestaShop missed a big place where everyone can share everything.PrestaStore just opened but will progressively be improved with new contents and new features, it won't be limited to modules and themes.Feel free to ask for features that will make your PrestaStore experience better
Patric
I don't think that PrestaStore will be the death of free modules. On the other hand, it may encourage some devs to create much more sophisticated modules.
Soha 8084
hi allI think that we will be missing alot of great free modules and features because if you can sell it why giving it away :Sam so worry we will no longer find nice free modules and themes in this forum am starting to be afraid that prestashop will be non-free software in the future

Patric
I think that we will be missing alot of great free modules and features because if you can sell it why giving it away :S A lot of very good devs provide very good softwares for free. Yet, they could sell them... but they don't... Why would it be different with PS modules ?
San Diego
hithere are guys which try to sell themes, which only contains the colour change of the default themenobody will buy thoseon the other side some guys invested a lot of time for modules or themeswhy not giving them some bucks for the time you save.what i want to say it is a free world, if you don´t buy they will not sell it.sd
jtprince
The biggest problem of the open source projects to provide the financial background. I am pretty sure, the PresaTeam has been received only a few donations.PrestaStore is the right track IMO to ensure the future of the PrestaShop project. Hammy Havoc
I agree, it looks pretty sexy right now, however I don't reckon it's going to completely change people's minds, some modules will be given away due to the generosity in some people's personalities, while others may be equally as generous but feel they would like some money for the time they've spent writing the script, it's at their sole discretion whether or not they ask for money for their module.
