Sunshine_cutie
I’m wondering if anyone could advise me on any potential problems that might appear by having PrestaShop and Magento running simultaneously on a single domain on a shared server, one in the root folder (www.domain.com) and the other in a subfolder (www.domain.com/Magento) or (www.domain.com/PrestaShop), and create text or banner links linking them, basically telling customers that “Hey, we have a main store, and a second store running simultaneously, with different products. How cool is that?” I’m wondering if there could be any incompatibility issues or other issues that would be caused by running such 2 stores in a single domain, only separated by a subfolder. Any advice would be appreciated very much. The one and only, Sunshine_cutie
Snol
Wouldnt think it would cause problems, but why dont you use 2 prestashop installs 1 with adifferent theme?, you would have a new database and total seperate folder will be same as if it was on total seperate site surley.you may run into problems of bandwidth and speed if your server doesnt have enough space dependant on how many products/traffic.JOhn
Sunshine_cutie
Thanks a lot John. I'm thinking of installing both PrestaShop and Magento because I wanna test drive both systems and learn about each one's features first hand, and not limited to only one solution. Appreciate your advice!
