Trouble with save modifications in back office.

Hi all.

 

I was very happy with the performance of the program until I decided to upgrade to version 1.5 prestashop.

From it I found a serious problem, I have not managed to solve and have not found anyone in the forums that could give me a solution.

Suddenly, I sensed that I could not in any way modify products previously had introduced in versions prior to 1.5.

According to "nadie" moderator prestashop forum, I made the following change to /config/config.inc.php, change this:

@ ini_set ('display_errors',' off ')

and therefore

@ ini_set (' display_errors', 'on ')

for that would show the error that occurred in the browser.

But when I try to save changes, the browser goes blank and does not save anything and don't show no errors.

The only solution I've found is to duplicate the product, which makes the program pretty bad, because we have to enter all the details, including images, although the system will ask if duplicate them say yes.

All I can do is remove products.

The problem is that I have many with this problem.

 

Another thing I have done is to see if they have changed the attributes of the database, but I do not see any field, or otherwise blocked or changed.

 

I thought the following updates prestashop, it would rectify the problem, but that has not happened.

 

I'm going crazy with this trouble.

 

It would be inappropriate, but I have not been able to solve, or the rollback of the back office, so I would appreciate any help greatly.

 

One more thing, sorry. All of this happens in every brower I use and in every computer.

First, I tried to disable cache in settings.inc.php (because I couldn't do it in BO) define('_PS_CACHE_ENABLED_', '0')but didn't help.

Then I reuploaded the admin, controllers, and classes directories but that didn't solve the problem either.

I also have two other issues that might be connected: I cannot filter the products in Catalog>Products and the Configuration Checklist in BO Dashboard cannot load.

I think I found the solution. In my case there was a paid module causing the problem (attribute tab) and when I disabled it all the problems disappeared! So maybe you should also check if there is a non compatible module in your list.

Same weird cache problem in BO not saving changes using 1.5.3.1 Help please.

Especially when changing tax rules. I have to wait 5 min before those changes appears in Back Office.

Are you using any caching programs? Have you tried using another browser?

I have made sure there are no cache activated. I have tried Safari and Chrome.

In theory yes, but I've heard 1.5.4.1 is not declared "stable" yet and one of my payment modules Payson is only supported by 1.5.3.1 right now. Every single version of Prestashop has some sort of serious bug. Going from 1.5.3.1 to 1.5.4.1 would just trade this problem for another. If I wait 5-10 minutes the country I've chosen to add to some tax rule does pop up eventually. It's just that I have to add 30+ countries...

The problem is you are have some "unusual problem". As for declaring PS 1.5.4.1 stable ... every update is an attempt to fix problems from the version before. Do you think Windows 8 is bug free? Of course not ... but it is different than Windows 7 and it may have the fix you need. No reason you can't use your current PayPal module, just make a backup and then replace it.

 

Another solution is to post in the paid help forum or contact Prestshop for a certified technician to track down the cause of your problem.

 

But before that I would create two new directory's and install a fresh copy PS 1.5.3.1 and PS 1.5.4.1

 

In the new directory for PS 1.5.4.1 I would just copy over your current PS 1.5.3.1 and just try to run the upgrade to PS 1.5.4.1, you will need to create a new database and import your current data. Remember to change the name of the database settings.inc.php. Then try a one click upgrade.

 

In the new PS 1.5.3.1 directory I would install a new fresh copy of PS 1.5.3.1. Don't just copy of your old PS, download and install a fresh copy of PS 1.5.3.1 and import your current data, but again make a new database and import your current data.
