does not work after installing - parse error and more

hi,

after instaling the software prestashop i went to my server and tried to open it on line - it does not work.

i got this message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /homepages/44/d336494288/htdocs/shop/index.php on line 29

 

i'd appreciate any help/support/ideas.

The error says that is an issue wjen calling a class method like

 

$class->method-name should be $class->{"method-name"}

sorry, but this - see below- is the only index.php i have access to... and there is nothing like you mentioned in line 29...

the other index.php which was mentioned in my website does not exist on my server.

my php-version is 4.4.9

The php version is too low, so it won't work what hosting do you have? maybe they have php 5 also installed on the server but you need to configure it, check with your hosting company also
