Thierry
In the back office, look in "Payment > Currency".
deborahjb
You may be also experiencing a browser cache problem. When I change the default currency in the Currencies page, then go to reload the page in the storefront, it still shows up as Euro. When I access the page from another computer, it shows up as Dollar. Firefox especially has cache issues...try clearing your cache or loading from another browser. fburn
I found the easiest way to change this was to change the setting for euro to $ and then delete the other dollar and GBP currency. That way there is no currency conversion, i.e. x1.

fburn
:grrr: I did this because the default currency when set to dollar instead of euro factored the foreign exchange rate and bumped all of my prices. Perhaps there was an alternate way to do this that would work better?
deborahjb
So, clearing your cache didn't work? I suppose your method works if you are in the U.S. and don't need other currencies...

Yes, setting the US dollar rate to 1, the currency to the default one and then update the currency exchange rates ;-P
