How can I switch servers including hosting/db etc without any downtime? Running PS 1.5.2/default theme. This would be on a live shop. Thanks Transfer to another provider will be associated with the changes in domain settings (nameservers). So temporary problems in "domain propagation" can occur. You can minimize the risk of downtime by setting up the ip redirection on your shared hosting to your vps. When someone open "yourdomain.com" right after connect will be redirected to new vps ip address. After propagation process it wouldn't be needed. Ps. innocuous Posted November 2, 2012 Author Share Posted November 2, 2012 Not moved. Actually I have already bought space and paid in advance for 6 months with current shared hosting provider. It should take care of my new PS shop since initial months traffic will be low. After 3-4 months when traffic increases, i'll definitely want to shift to a VPS.
