issue whit istallation

Hi there

I needed to reinstall my theme and delete my database. I need to installe manually because my theme only supports version 1.4.0.17 and my host provider only install 1.4.9.0 and 1.5.0 whit 1 click installation.

 

I have problems whit connect whit the database so I was thinking if it is possible to install the 1.4.9.0 whit the 1 click installation and the chance the prestashop version to the old 1.4.0.17 from my ftp server?

 

Is that possible??

This is something I had to think about the other day with a presta install. In the end I:

• downloaded the version of presta you need, which you can find HERE
  

• ftp them to a new location on your hosting (in the correct folder with an associated domain, etc.)
  

• While you're waiting, go to your database area and create a new one. This varies for each hosting type.
  

• Once you have a database name, a username (associated with the db) and a password (ditto), go to your domain that you installed presta on.
  

• Complete the details as requested on the install process.
  

 

The one problem I had was user error - when I copied and pasted the username/pass, I accidentally pasted a blank space. It was because of this that the install did not work. As soon as I'd deleted the white space, it all went very well.
