psso
Hi all, I've been trying to install prestashop on my own computer. Everything was fine for the installation, but then I tried to login to the back office I never got it succeeded. It keeps showing the error 404 object not found error. I first tried v1.5.2 but have seen much problems with it on the forum, so I tried v1.4.9 now but it doesn't work either.... I even followed the solution as suggested here: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/138938-backoffice-http-error-500-internal-server-error-after-fresh-install/ but still no luck.... I've already been trying for days.... Anyone could shed some light on this problem would be much much appreciated!!
BossThemes
Did you rename the admin folder to something like admin7549 and delete the install folder? What's your domain?
psso
yes i did. i put "127.0.0.1/my portable files/prestashop/admin97" as the URL on my broswer, typed in the correct email and password, but still it keeps coming up with the 404 error. I've also tried deleting cookies, and on different browsers but all got the same result.... I've attached a screenshot here for your reference. Any idea what's wrong....? christillis
Might be a silly thing to suggest, but have you installed WAMP or similar?
psso
yes i got the latest version of EasyPHP which meets the min requirement of MySQL, Apache, PHP, etc... this is so frustrating....
christillis
I feel your pain! I have to say, installing it on hosting is more reliable than on your own computer. I know that's a poor response and not what you were looking for, but you might want to consider getting some? I used Bezazz and I'm very happy with the service in every way. benjamin utterback
Hello all and thank you for the solution. You must always rename the Admin and Delete the Install folder before you can access your Back Office. I will mark this thread as solved. Thank you for choosing PrestaShop! tobto
hm, I've successfully installed a new 1.5.3.1 PS locally with MAMP, deleted INSTAL dir, changed ADMIN dir name to ADMIN001 and... see a nice clean white admin page http://localhost:888...ashop/admin001/ with no HTML in it. what is it? OK. Solved: turned off localhost server and turn it on again. Edited February 14, 2013 by tobto (see edit history)
