joenmass
Sorry if this is a repetative question but I have searched and have not found one definate answer to it.How exactly do you prevent the price of an item so as not to show the taxes already included on that price, I want just the before tax price to show. I set up everything in the backend (i.e. "Display pre-tax price on product page:" on Preferance/Product and also specified the one state that taxes should show) that was suppose to fix this issue but to no avail. If anyone has fixed this by hand coding would you please share with all of us in this community.
joenmass
Ok..figured it out myself. Was a little confusing. First what I was doing wrong...When I added a product (Catalog) I would choose my State's tax from the "Tax" dropdown list. Evidently I should just leave it alone and keep it at "No tax". For it to work also I would then go to Shipping/State then choose my state and click on "state tax" from the 'tax behavior" attribute. Finally go to Payment/Taxes click on my zone and click on my state that I want sales tax to be added to.Hope this helps anyone who had the same problem I had or is as confused as I was. :-)
davidtnb
I did what you did, it worked ONE time. I logged out, logged back in, now the products will not show the taxes.
joenmass
Do have your state taxes set up under Payment/ Taxes?? I have the US Zone checked off as well as my state which is also checked off.

davidtnb
Let me ask this. If I setup all of the states to have state tax, then just Mississippi have product tax and then just turn product tax on the item. Wouldn't that be the same thing? Just in reverse? joenmass
I tried that, but it didn't work for me. I don't know if it worked for someone else though.
