Showing all color combinations (on the first page)

I'm working on a shop (based on the newest 1.5.2) that has just a few products but multiple combinations based on color and weight. Basically I need to achieve a situation where:

 

- First page -> Featured product block -> shows all attribute variations of "featured products"

- Category page -> Shows all attribute variations of products in this category (and subcategory, if there's any)

 

So, not just "Product A" and "Product B" but

 

"Product A, pink, 100gr"

"Product A, pink, 1kg"

"Product B, black, 1kg"

"Product B, pink 1kg"

etc, etc.

 

Where should I start? Googling around gave me nothing but I can't be the first one trying to do it
