helpmeplease
Hi, I've upgraded Prestashop sites in the past with no problems. Unfortunately I have a site - currently Prestashop version 1.3.1 which I'm trying to update to 1.4 I've tried two different versions of Prestashop 1.4.6.2 and 1.4.8.2 Each time I get to the final screen - Your update is complete! - I get the message Unfortunately 19 SQL errors have occured. Luckily I tested this on a new domain before updating the actual shop! I've tried exporting the database via phpMyAdmin, MySQLAdmin and through the back office in Prestashop (from the existing Prestashop 1.3.1 installation). Just to ensure the database is okay. The existing shop (version 1.3.1) is working fine. I've repeated this process several times - but I always get the same error (19 SQL errors have occured) My thoughts are the database is corrupt...? Is there anything else I can try? I hope someone can help!? Thanks in advance Brian Edited October 29, 2012 by helpmeplease (see edit history)
bellini13
did you review the log that it provided to determine what the 19 sql errors are? In my experience the errors can be ignored since they typically refer to duplicate keys or existing columns or indexes.
helpmeplease
Hi, Thanks for replying! I'm not used to seeing any SQL errors but I've never updated from 1.3.1 to 1.4.8.2 (same number of errors on 1.4.6.2 too) If it helps I've added a link to the installation log showing the 19 errors - it does look pretty scarey!. http://www.sand-bags.co.uk/monday/19-sql-errors.txt Do these errors look okay and normal to you? If any of the errors will cause problems further down the line, I'll probably have to keep this shop on v1.3.1 If you could have a look that would be great. Thanks in advance. Best wishes Brian
bellini13
i cannot download the txt file. please rename the text file so it does not start with a number. Prestashop thinks the URL is a category.

bellini13
the errors all seem related to a permission issue with the database user. that user is not allowed to create tables. you need to change the permissions for that mysql user so it can create new tables that are required
helpmeplease
I moved the site onto hosting where I have full cPanel control - checked that all permissions were ticked for the database user and did the upgrade and it worked perfectly - no SQL errors! Thank you so much for your help - all seems fine now.....I had almost given up!
