Plz help - Changes in edit for categories does not change the name in the backend

Hi all!

 

I have had the same problems with all updates on new sites that uses version 1.4.7 -1.5.0.17

( I have not yet tested the newest )

 

The problem is that when I change the name of a product or a category the name is changed in frontend but in backend the original name is still there.

 

This makes it very confusing for someone who is working in the backend and I have no idea what to do / try?

 

This is how my preferences looks like in my 1.5.0.17 installation, I have tried to remove browser data and everything.

 

What to do?

Make sure it is not a caching effect. Try Advanced Parameters > Performance > Smarty > Force compile and Cache =No. If you are using any external caching disable and try again. Advanced Parameters > Performance > Caching.

No sorry that is not the issue..

Everything is turned off

 

And if I use some other computer it has the same problem so it has to do with the system

In that case all I can suggest is to update t to version 1.5.2.0. Hopefully you will have better luck.

Maybe you have different language for frontend and backend? Then in frontend you can see the category name in your language (changed), but you use backend e.g. in English so you still see the unchanged English version there. It's not only category names but also banners. This happened to me and it took me a while to figure out.
