What am I allowed to do with Prestashop?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am setting up a sort of online mall, with lots of different shops which people can rent. I intend to use Prestashops for the shops, and then build the rest of the site myself (to link the shops together). I would be charging people either per shop or per item sold (haven't decided yet). So it'd be like they're 'renting' space in the mall by having a shop. Am I allowed to do this using Prestashops, or is it not allowed?

I fully intend to keep the 'powered by Prestashop' stuff in (although I may remove the logo at the top of the page, if that's ok).

I'd also be supplying my own templates, based on ones I've downloaded (in terms of layout they would be similar, but I'll be totally changing the look).

Just want to check that it's ok to do all this and to charge for it?

You mean you are providing the service, i think its allowed. This package comes under opensource, you cannot sell but you can modify(always credits to prestashop) n use it. you cannot charge for the package, but you can charge for the service you provide.

You are very much allowed to change the top logo. ofcourse its your business :)

just go thru the opensource license. it ll give you the whole idea.

after creating share your shopping mall url... so that here someone can review n let u know whats what? :) also you can get more clicks. :P

Hi Sharon,

How are you planning to integrate different shops? I mean will it be simply one page that links to various shops, and each store will have its own Payment and Shipping done separately? or will your mall be integrating Payment and shipping for all the stores and will be taking care of all the related processes?

Hi Lucky,

ultimately I'd like to have one shopping cart, shipping thing etc for all stores, but that's a bit technical for me, so initially it will be a central page that links to the different shops. But the central page will pull in info from the databases of all the shops, so people can browse products centrally and then go to the shop to buy them.
