Hello Nora and Presta Shop programmers,
I own Gutter-Punk-Radio out of Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. First off I love Presta shop. I think its great software. I do have an idea for your software which would make the software more suitable for what I plan to do.

Most of the bands we air on Gutter-Punk-Radio are independent bands. We here at Gutter-Punk-Radio are a non profit radio station helping bands gain exposure. We are starting a new program by the end of 2009. We are opening up an online mp3 store (e-store) to help indie bands earn money from their work without having to send physical goods and so we can afford our monthly costs associated with owning a radio station.

Your software has almost everything I need to open our online E-store. Of course if we are selling a bands digital album on our website, we would need that band to be able to log in to our store and access sells info so they know they can trust us. (This is standard for most E-stores. All bands have a place to log in to see if they sold anything that day. With that being said, I would just create an employee account for each band on Presta Shop. This way they will have a user name and password and each band will be able to access this information. The only problem is, if I do this, every band who logs in will be able to see all of the other bands sells as well. (NOT just what they have sold) This would be an invasion of privacy and I am not able to do business this way.

I racked my brain over and over again because I love the Presta Shop software. (I currently have it installed on my website but I am doing nothing with it at this time.) My Idea: Where you set the permissions under tools, I think there are a lot of great options for restricting users from seeing certain things, etc. Under the “Orders” category, I would love to see an area where you can type certain product numbers into the text box. What this would do is give this user access to only the item numbers that are typed in that box under “permissions” . For example: If the band “Guns and Roses” was a member of my store and I was selling their mp3's online, I would give them a user and password as an employee so they can check their stats every day and see if they sold anything. The way your store is currently set up, “Guns and Roses“will be able to see the sells of all bands. If you used my idea, I would enter their product number (example: gunsandroses535) in the “order” category under “permissions” and this would make it to where “Guns and Roses” would only be able to access order stats for their item(s) being sold in my store.

I will be honest with you. I am poor. Lol. I do not have thousands of dollars to hire a programmer. I do this out of love and passion for music. Presta shop is close to perfect for what I am doing. If someone can carry out my idea, I will make some kind of donation. I can't afford much but I would like to show my appreciation. If anyone is interested or anyone can help me, please let me know.
