Freekers
Hello, I am trying to upgrade 1.5.1 to 1.5.2. When going to http://shop.com/install/upgrade/upgrade.php I get this error: <action result="fail" error="28" /> What now? Can I safely remove the install folder? Because I cannot login to the BO at this point? Has something been updated yet or...? Thanks

musicmaster
Error 28 is that you are already using the latest version. If you can't enter the backoffice you may be stuck in the middle. You can try a few things but if that doesn't succeed you should better go back to your backup. One thing you should check are the PS_CONFIGURATION and PS_SHOP_URL settings in the configuration table of your database They should have the correct server and subdirectory. In general it is better to use autoupgrade. There are a lot of problems with the manual upgrade and the manual is incomplete.
Freekers
Thanks for the reply! I restored my backup and tried the autoupgrade... sadly that didn't go well either: [ERROR] /modules/autoupgrade/ has not been unzipped [ERROR] /modules/autoupgrade/db/ has not been unzipped [WARNING] error when trying to upgrade module autoupgrade. I am on version 1.5.2 but a lot of modules are broken now. What can I do about this? I have all green checkmarks at the pre-upgrade checklist... Thanks in advance! musicmaster
You use the newest autoupgrade (0.9.3)?
Freekers
Yes. I managed to fix it by restoring my backup again, and use the manual upgrade method again. Then I manually deleted the install folder and it was OK.
musicmaster
Are you working on a localhost or a server? In the latter case you should watch out for writing rights. For that reason I recommend to do the upgrade offline on a local windows pc.
Freekers
I am running on a shared webhosting environment, so a server yes. Hmm, in what way does a manual upgrade provide more security risks than an automated upgrade?
musicmaster
"Hmm, in what way does a manual upgrade provide more security risks than an automated upgrade?" I am puzzled why you ask that. I was encouraged by PS to use autoupgrade and my own experience was that there are serious problems with manual upgrade - including an incomplete manual. If you are doing it with the Dutch version - for example - you need to take care to copy the NL directory in "translations". My guess would be that your "has not been unzipped" problems were caused by the fact that the script had to create new directories for that and that it was blocked by Linuz/Unix for not having sufficient rights. The main reasons to do an offline upgrade is that it gives you freedom to experiment without disturbing your shop.
Henrik Pantle
have the same problems with the modules updating and the unzip error. i have the prob even if i try to update to 1.4.9 i got messages in the process window: kopiert /themes/prestashop/js/index.php.Das Verzeichnis /themes/prestashop/js/modules existiert bereits copying /themes/prestashop/js/index.php. folder /themes/prestashop/js/modules exists and: i wonder about the output: ... 41 Module werden aktualisiert werden Die Klasse pclZip.lib.php wird verwendet ... [ERROR] /modules/alliedwallet/ has not been unzipped /modules/alliedwallet/validation.php unzipped into /modules// ... maybe it should say just /modules/alliedwallet/validation.php unzipped into /modules/ ??? so where does this aditional / comes from??? the complete 19716 lines of the process window in a zip file: process-output.zip and the error list too.. error-liste.txt
musicmaster
Did you set the rights ok? An unzipping error can happen because the program doesn't have the rights to create a new directory.
Henrik Pantle
the module folder has chmod 750 recurively perhaps it is that bz2 is active instead of zip in the php.ini?!? as far as I see in info.php thanks for help Edited November 14, 2012 by eltnap (see edit history)
