1.5.2 BUGS

Recommended Posts

+1. I've found 1.5.2 a lot more stable than 1.5.1. I also recommend changing back to the default theme before when/if you update. Then when you update successfully, change back to your modified theme to see how it works.

Backup everything first though!

thank for shared. could you mind teach me how the best way to upgrade from ps 1.5.1 to 1.5.2 without failed? please.

step by step of course :rolleyes:

Yes, if it isn't too customized, a fresh install would be best but if you want to update, here is what worked for me:

Backup database and store

Updated all the modules - 1 Click Update and Import/Export a theme were what needed to be updated for me.

Disabled any modules that weren't native to the PS install.

Disabled Store.

1-Click Update Settings I used:

Backup Files and Database - Yes

Backup My Images - Yes

Server Performance - Low

Disable Non-Native Modules - Yes

Upgrade The Default Theme - Yes (I use a modified version of this that I saved under a different name)

Upgrade The Default Emails - No

Your Prestashop 1.5 is better than before you did?

Hello jewell, I'm sorry if you could please explain the issue again with the themeinstaller, I am having trouble understanding what you mean?

may be the theme of an error, install theme 100 % and sent corrupted file etc.. are alysum theme, maybe not fit 1.5.2

Hello, you would need to contact the developer of this theme to answer your question about that. Have you tried a fresh install of 1.5.2, do you have the same issue?

Yes, I tried to 1.5.2 and it does not successful, bluehost.

Yes, Marek is good partner.

thanks for the advice guys.

i have done a lot of setting up of modules, adding pages via cms, setting up attributes, and there are around 3500 so far (not generated many of the combinations yet as only 2 products in the shop), setting up shipping, general preferences & configuration and such. all the rest of the work has been on the theme (css only).

i assume that the database structure is the same, and all the config settings are stored in the database.

if so, i will do a fresh install of 1.5.2,

install the modules as per the current install,

export the theme from the old & import into the new,

copy the images and cms additions (i assume that cms pages are not stored in the database),

export and import the database,

and activate the theme,

and i should be back where i started but using 1.5.2 instead.

i will then check to see if the problems are still there and report back. i should get to doing this either late on sunday, or monday morning. i will of course check on here to see if there is anything else i need to do to transfer things over to 1.5.2. if copying the whole database is likely to perpetuate the problems i can copy on a by table basis to be able to import most of the settings & data.

Again, thanks for the help.

Another one for the list:

http://forge.prestas...owse/PSCFV-5399

This is the scenario:

SHOP1 and SHOP2

  • PRODUCT created in SHOP1.
  • Added one combination to product (example: EXTRA 1-yes+2€ // 2-No=Same Price)
  • Everything saved and OK.
  • Select SHOP2 from the dropdown list on top.
  • Save product without combinations.

RESULT: In SHOP2 category, in the product list you find PRODUCT repeated as many times as combinations available. And price as 0,00. When you go inside the product everything seems fine. Also product is not showing on front page.

UPDATE. More info:

If you give PRODUCT in SHOP2 one attribute, you'll get 2 products, one with price 0,00 and another with correct price (of product and attribute).

If you give PRODUCT in SHOP2 all the attributes, you'll get it working fine, 1 product, correct price and showing on frontpage.

Is there any DB schema difference b/w the two versions i.e 1.5.0.17 and 1.5.2? I am trying to manually update file by file (by doing diff) since I have heavily modified my prestashop 1.5.0.17 installation.

You can go to /install/upgrade/sql/ and you will see wich sql modifications every version makes

In your case are this:

SET NAMES 'utf8';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_image_shop` ADD `cover` TINYINT(1) UNSIGNED NOT NULL AFTER `id_shop`;
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_image_shop` DROP PRIMARY KEY;
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_image_shop` ADD INDEX (`id_image`, `id_shop`, `cover`);
UPDATE `PREFIX_image_shop` image_shop SET image_shop.`cover`=1 WHERE `id_image` IN (SELECT `id_image` FROM `PREFIX_image` i WHERE i.`cover`=1);
INSERT INTO `PREFIX_configuration`(`name`, `value`, `date_add`, `date_upd`) VALUES ('PS_ONE_PHONE_AT_LEAST', '1', NOW(), NOW());
/* PHP:p15018_change_image_types(); */;
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_product` CHANGE `width` `width` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', CHANGE `height` `height` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', CHANGE `depth` `depth` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', CHANGE `weight` `weight` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_product_attribute` CHANGE `weight` `weight` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_product_attribute_shop` CHANGE `weight` `weight` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_order_carrier` CHANGE `weight` `weight` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_attribute_impact` CHANGE `weight` `weight` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_order_detail` CHANGE `product_weight` `product_weight` DECIMAL(20, 6) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_stock_available` DROP INDEX `product_sqlstock`;
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_stock_available` ADD UNIQUE (`id_product`, `id_product_attribute`, `id_shop`);
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_cms` ADD INDEX (`id_cms_category`);

And this:

SET NAMES 'utf8';
ALTER TABLE `PREFIX_address` CHANGE `company` `company` VARCHAR(32) NULL;
/* PHP:fix_cms_shop_1520(); */;

Erm.... Just a thought... Does this mean that PS 1.5.2 is NOT a stable release?

I have given up on trying to upgrade or try to transfer products from my old 1.2.5 store to 1.5.X.

I figured I would just fresh install 1.5.2 and manually copy my products across.

If 1.5.2 is not stable, I am not going to put the energy in, just to be aggravated all over again.

BTW, this is not a PS hate post, I love the software and have tested most others.

PS rocks, and migrating products and software upgrading are caveats that affect most if not all of these free shopping carts.

Here is something in the mobile view I'm experiencing.

1. I use a header that goes across the top of my store. In mobile view it's smashed in the left side of the screen. Might be nice to have a separate mobile header. Not really a bug but something I think would be nice. I haven't figured out how to get it to go across all the way yet with css.

2.Don't think this is a bug but something that just doesn't work well. I have a category without any products. It does have a subcategory with products.

For example:

Modification Kits (main category - no products)

-->Boss (subcategory - no products)

-->BD-2 Blues Breaker (the products are here)

Where Boss is a subcategory of Modification Kits and BD-2 Blues Breaker is a subcategory of Boss. The BD-2 subcategory has all the products.

In mobile view, I can't access the subcategories. I click on Modification Kits and I just get "no products in this category". There isn't a way to access the subcategories.

The only way to get to them is to go to All Categories. Most of my main categories have subcategories so that makes it look like I don't have any product unless by chance someone clicks on the All Categories.

I don't know why my topic in the themes forum is being ignored by the team, but anyway this IS a bug, even though i've read some claim is not. It's not possible to display the left column in any way on certain pages modules, without overriding the front controller. here:

I'm just trying to change the logo. As you can see from my profile, I've been using prestashop since 2009 so I know my way around the .tpl files etc (a bit).

I'm trying to upload my logo via the BO with no success. I upload it > save it > it shows > but as soon as I refresh the BO and FO it's gone the old logo.

Oh, I thought you were trying to resize it or something.

So you upload your new image in the BO and it isn't staying? It reverts back to your old image after you refresh?

If you go to your server and go to into the prestashop folders, there is an img folder that should have your store images in it. You can try just replacing it there and I would probably remove your old image if it's there also. I would probably rename you new image the same as your old image too.

Yes.. I've been trying all day with no success. Force compile ..etc. I even edited the header.tpl file logo url and it was just blank with a border. I honestly feel to cry LOL

Hello pneeds, you can just use the Add-IP feature in maintenance mode if you only want to allow some users to access to the site.

I know...I should have done that.

Does anyone know why shop reassurance isn't working? Is it working for everyone else? I deleted the module and reinstalled it but when I go to configure it, it's broken.

Also, cms/info block in the footer. When I configure it and tick only the links I want shown in the footer... they still ALL show.

Any help?

It's working fine for me. I would start by uninstalling and deleting the reassurance module and replace it with the one in the SVN via FTP right onto your server.

hi all.

have done a fresh install of 1.5.2 and things have improved (not uploaded the database yet, just working with the default install).

the only bug that i can see at the moment is with the handling charge in the shipping area. it is not displayed anywhere on any of the order summary or checkout pages, making the shipping charges look huge, and it is not added in anywhere at all if the customer qualifies for free shipping.

in my case most products will have free shipping (as its easier than trying to estimate the weights of products i have yet to make), but i still want to charge for packaging etc and some offset on the cost of shipping, thus i cant add it on to the price of the product, as then if 2, 3, 4, or more products are ordered the handling charge is duplicated.

there must be a way of adding a handling charge to a single product that was ordered with free shipping, and to a order that qualifies for free shipping (over a certain weight/price), and having it displayed in the summary information as a individual item (like tax and shipping). A lot of customers are aware of shipping costs, and this helps them to see how shipping is arrived at and helps reassure them that they are not being ripped off.

i hope someone can help me sort this problem out.

many thanks in advance.

Biggest bug of 1.5.2.0 by far: http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCFV-5350

The bug only occurs by using Share Quantities turned on in a Multistore Group.

The cart is the most essential feature of every webshop. So I consider this bug as the highest possible priority.

Thanks for all the hard work guys, I'm really looking forward, every day, for a stable version 1.5!

Any news on the Customer Data Privacy block issue?

I've been using the One Page Checkout instead of the 5 Step Checkout because the block doesn't work but today I switched back to the 5 Step with the block disabled because I'm coming across an issue with the One Page Checkout.

People are completing checkout without entering the State field and then at Paypal payment it's throwing an error:

PayPal response:TIMESTAMP -> 2012-11-10T14:43:59ZL_ERRORCODE0 -> 10729L_SHORTMESSAGE0 -> Shipping Address State EmptyL_LONGMESSAGE0 -> The field Shipping Address State is requiredL_SEVERITYCODE0 -> Error

It all works when a customer goes back in and enters a State or I do it in the BO. The State field is required field or at least it should be. I'm not sure if they are clicking the yellow "checkout with Paypal" button or if it's a problem in the "Create an Account" area.

Oh, and 2 things about One Step Checkout:

1. A phone number is required and there isn't a little red "required" asterisk by it or any text saying that one is required.

2. The little red "required" State field asterisk is on the right side of the drop-down menu instead of by the word State.

I just tried to "Create An Account" without entering a State and it wouldn't let me go proceed without entering a State. It must be with the Checkout With Paypal button?????

Edit:

Fixed the State asterisk:

Navigate to Prestashop/themes/default (or whatever theme you're using)/order-opc-new-account.tpl

Line 240 (on mine) was:

<label for="id_state">{l s='State'} </label>

<select name="id_state" id="id_state">

<option value="">-</option>

</select>

*

I changed it to:

<label for="id_state">{l s='State'} *</label>

<select name="id_state" id="id_state">

<option value="">-</option>

</select>

The space after the 'State'} is important or there won't be a space between the word State and the asterisk.

-----------------------------------------------

Here is a fix for adding a red asterisk after the Home Phone text (it's the one that seems to be required):

Line 266 of the same order-opc-new-account.tpl

Changed:

<label for="phone">{l s='Home phone'}</label>

To:

<label for="phone">{l s='Home phone'} *</label>

Again, the space after the phone;} is important or there won't be a space between Home Phone and the asterisk.

Me too have a lot of problem with 1.5.2

- Comparator don't work

- In cart shipment costs are everyday "free shipping" but not if the client log in

- Very very slow

- Part of back-end don't work if we use our language (we are in Italy)

I'm really thinkng to suggest the company to abandon Prestashop.

Did you update from a previous version or did you do a clean install?

I updated from 1.5.1 and the compare and shipping work fine. Can't say anything about the language as I only use English.

Try disabling any non-native modules and see if that does anything.

Have anyone noticed that Blockspecials module when enabled slows site speed by more than 6 sec. As soon as I disable the module then the site goes back to normal. I am using native blockspecials module without any change.

It looks like getRandomSpecial Function is doing a very heavy query.

Please reply if someone else also facing similar issue.

Raised a bug for it also but looks like this is very low priority for everyone. http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PNM-674

Do you have shared quantities in a multishop group enabled? Because with these settings the cart doesn't work in 1.5.2.0. And it hasn't been confirmed yet that the cart will function in the next version with these settings. I hope so much that the cart problems will be fixed... Prestashop 1.5 is 100% unusable at this moment; only because of the instable/broken cart..

No difference, in speed, with or without Blockspecials module.

About price comparator, in 1.5.1 works 1 time only and only on Firefox. After this only time, the comparator is dead.

Is not a problem of cache and similar.

Our prestashop 1.5.2 is updated from the 1.5.1

Remember if you use cloudflare or similar services, to not use coockies based on IP.

Our chart always indicate FREE shipment, but if you login the shipment costs appears.

Hello, the Customer Data Privacy issue should have been fixed in the SVN version. You can read about and test it here, http://forge.prestas...owse/PSCFV-4357

I already have a live 1.5.2.0 site where I need to fix this. I can't upgrade the current site with SVN as I get "an unversioned file of the same name already exists" errors. I could do an SVN checkout into a new directory and copy the changed files over, but the bug report doesn't list the files that were changed.

Can you help ?

Yeah, I replaced the module and it still isn't working for me. Not sure about the error you are getting though. I'm using Tortoise SVN. I updated the SVN and none of the updates mention the module. I went through and replaced all the updated files and it still didn't work. I don't think it's fixed or the problem isn't within the module itself and lies in a different file.

Hello Steve,

If you have a bug tracking report I can check. Also, if you know of multiple threads addressing this issue with multiple people experiencing it, that would be ideal.

Hi yes there are multiple threads.

This problem happens in some browsers and not others.

I have this PS version 1.5.2 on a subdirectory of my domain. If I set to non friendly URL etc it seems to work.

It seems to be to do with cookies. Maybe after an upgrade there is some problem.

I *think* I have fixed it. I had to set friendly / canonical to "no", delete cache, delete .htaccess, delete my broswer cookies.

Enable friendly / canonical to generate .htaccess and have tried again.

It seems to work now.

I am not sure if this problem is to do with my development platform being on the same domain in a subdirectory. It's possible I suppose.

Hi bside2234,

Are you using a fresh install or an upgraded shop? In my case I am using an upgraded database from 1.4.9 and I am facing many bugs in Prestashop which are only coming in upgraded shops.

I'm using an updated shop from 1.5.1 to 1.5.2. I tried updating 1.5.1 from 1.4.9 using the 1 Click Upgrade and it was a mess which lead me to a clean install of 1.5.1. Actually the issue I had was with database restoring once the update didn't work too well.

My thought on update issues is if you went an replaced all your folders and files with the 1.5.x SVN ones, you would eliminate any issues you were having with updating???? At least it would rule out the folders/files you replaced and would now probably be an issue with non-native modules, the database, and/or an external issue. Now I don't know if it's safe to replace all the files in the Admin folder so I probably wouldn't touch that unless you know what you are doing. Maybe someone who actually knows more about this stuff can chime in. I've fixed tons of issues in the past by replacing whole folders with the SVN version though. This would remove any customization of any files you did though. I would also probably back everything up first too. Just in case.

You may not have to go through all this though. Have you tried replacing just this module with the SVN version?

Yes.. I tried replacing the module but it is still the same. Changed my DB Engine from InnoDB to MyISAM. Tried all optimizations in MySQL but no help. Finally disabled the module and the speed went back to normal.

I strongly feel it is a problem with query being used in "getRandomSpecial" Function in Product.php which is taking too much of the time to fetch the data.

Link to comment
Share on other sites

Yes, This getRandomSpecial function is called from Product.php and is actually making a query in DB to get the product. In MySQL stats it is showing that query is taking place on non indexed columns.

So if the Product.php and the specials module were replaced with the SVN version the problem would most likely lie in the database??? Sorry. I'm no expert by any means. I'm still learning all this stuff and I know very little about databases.

Here are two bugs I have found recently:

I have two test shops one is an updated 1.4.9 and one is a fresh install, both have the same results for both bugs.

1: Product comparison overlaps the right column if more then 3 products for comparison are selected.

I have my comparison set to 5 and the result is the same for Chrome & IE.

2: When in the products view there are icons to the right Edit, Duplicate & Delete, when hovering over the Duplicate icon the text says Bad SQL query, however if you click on the link you receive the message Also copy images, click OK and the product is duplicated but not the image.

When in the edit mode there is an icon at the top for Duplication with this one hovering says Duplicate, clicking gives the same message Also copy images except this time the images are duplicated.

So I took at look at the link for the product view areas duplication icon and it seems that the link title is set to Bad SQL query. :blink:

I will be posting both on the forge.

Duplicate works perfectly fine on mine and says Duplicate.

The compare products does go underneath the right column when set to more than 3.

Just to be sure is that the same for both duplicate buttons the one in the pic and the top menu button when in edit mode.

Did you try both to see that the results were the same for both.

What version of Presta are you on, and thanks for replying.

Yeah, both duplicate buttons on the Product list page and the Product edit page both work the same. The one on the Product list page (like in your picture) says duplicate when I hover over it.

I'm using 1.5.2 updated from 1.5.1

On the Compare note:

I'm noticing the check boxes don't automatically uncheck. I can manually uncheck them but it doesn't seem to REALLY uncheck them and I get an error that I can only add XXX items to compare. Now the check marks are gone so I don't know what I checked and the error pops up. I'll check back later to see if it "resets".

Hi every one

I am new in Prestashop and installed 1.5.2 everything looks OK but I can't see the name of the product on the bottom of image which I upload. my business is flooring and I need to keep couple of color name under on product .

The color name has to be shown on thickbox , fancyimage when the image is 600x600 on Prestashop on default theme

Thanks

I have also noticed the box check issue, last night while testing I checked three boxes as soon as I clicked compare two boxes unchecked but in the compare page I got 3 products, I clicked back and all three showed as checked.

And like you say all items seem to stay checked after comparing or even going to do other things as a matter of fact I checked the page and the items I checked yesterday were still checked.

Another strange thing I noticed is I am set to 5 if I select 3 items from 1 category and 3 from another I get no message it just shows the first items and unchecks the others if I select more then 5 from the same category then I get the message. (You can not add more then 5 products for comparison.

Well, I've been messing with the compare thing a lot more and I'm not sure the check boxes not unchecking is a bug. I think it's more of a "know how to use it" kind of thing.

For example:

I have mine set to compare 3 (since more than that does go under the right column) :rolleyes:

I select 2 items from one category and 1 item from another and click compare.

Now the complaint is if I go back, the check boxes are still checked. Well, shouldn't they be???? I'm still comparing them.

You can manually uncheck one and pick another product and it will compare with the other two. Correct???

The other thing is if you use the "remove" link while on the compare window, it removes the item from comparing and clears the check box.

Looking at it that way, the check box thing is working 100% for me.

I'd like to compare more than 3 items though so fixing the issue of it going under the right column would be nice.

I really need help with this issue. I have done a clean install of prestashop 1.5.2 but the biggest concern i have is that when i add a product to the cart in the default theme the cart still shows nothing and is empty. From other post threads I have read as I understand this is an issue everyone is experiencing. Thus i wanted to know when is it coming out or is there stable release of prestashop which I can use. Because I need to build a shop after a week and have it ready

Can you please help me with this?

Starting to think this is how it works, lets say you had 1 item from 3 pages in the same category if they auto cleared you would not be able to compare items from different pages.

I am starting to remember a time when this was not the case and if you checked items from 1 page and went to the next the item from the first page would clear (its a cookie thing).

Here is an example.

What's nice is when the "going through the right column" thing is fixed, I want to set it to compare 8. Having it work this way will allow one to remove one or two from the compare and replace them without having to go back through all the pages and select the other 6 again. I do think an "All Clear" button on the compare page might be nice so you don't have to clear them all manually.

I have found a solution for the Product compare issue that may be just the fix, at least until Prestashop has a better solution.

There are several issues with the compare feature but this will help, edit your comparator.css file located in themes/default/css and modify the section below or copy and past the code provided.

With the comparison modified css file you will be able to compare up to 5 product without overlapping the right column.

The down side is that you can not just click on a category in the left column to get more products to compare. (If using the top horizontal menu or footer menu probably not an issue)

If using features just replace display:none with the background code.

The lines in red are the modified code.

If you copy and paste paste just above the code below replacing what is there now.

#product_comparison .product_image {

display:block;

text-align:center

}

#left_column {display:none}

#center_column {width:757px}

table#product_comparison {

width:100%;

border-right:1px solid #ccc;

border-bottom:1px solid #ccc;

margin-left:5px

}

#product_comparison tr.comparison_header {font-weight:bold}

#product_comparison td {

padding:6px;

border-top:1px solid #ccc;

border-left:1px solid #ccc;

border-right:1px solid #ccc;

vertical-align:top

}

#product_comparison td.td_empty{display:none}

#product_comparison tr.comparison_header,

#product_comparison td.comparison_feature_even {display:none} <!--background:#f8f8f8 if features used-->

This is the result:

Another problem I found was in the Manufacturer page the code was wrong for the comparison, sort, pagination area.

Mine showed a yellow button had no pagination on top and no show XX products per page.

Take a look at yours and you should see what I mean.

In this case I changed the code below:

Changed this:

{if $products}

<div class="sortPagiBar clearfix">

{include file="./product-sort.tpl"}

</div>

{include file="./product-compare.tpl"}

{include file="./product-list.tpl" products=$products}

{include file="./pagination.tpl"}

{include file="./product-compare.tpl"}

{else}

<p class="warning">{l s='No products for this manufacturer.'}</p>

{/if}

{/if}

To this:

{if $products}

<div class="content_sortPagiBar">

{include file="$tpl_dir./pagination.tpl"}

<div class="sortPagiBar clearfix">

{include file="./product-sort.tpl"}

{include file="./product-compare.tpl"}

{include file="./nbr-product-page.tpl"}

</div>

</div>

{include file="./product-list.tpl" products=$products}

<div class="content_sortPagiBar">

<div class="sortPagiBar clearfix">

{include file="./product-sort.tpl"}

{include file="./product-compare.tpl"}

{include file="./nbr-product-page.tpl"}

</div>

{include file="./pagination.tpl"}

</div>

{else}

<p class="warning">{l s='No products for this manufacturer.'}</p>

{/if}

{/if}

This is how the top and bottom looked originally:

This is the result:

I was thinking about using the Modules/Positions in the back off and create hook "exceptions" for the Compare page and remove the right column blocks. It would still look funny with 8 items going off really far to the right. They need to be contained in the center.

you can use the code I posted above just change to this

#right_column {display:none}

#center_column {width:}

But in this case the 8 products are all the way to the left of the screen and I have a 21" wide screen lcd monitor.

Someone with an older monitor would have to scroll to see all the products. (I have to scroll a little)
