Module installed, use positions to add (seems harder than it should perhaps?)

Hi All,

 

Fairly new to Presta and shopping carts in general, but bear with me if you can.

 

If a module is installed and I go to Module > Positions. Is there a way of knowing where a module can be 'transplanted', or do I have to travel down a long list of "Hook into" options such as 'left column', 'Footer', etc. until it's accepted?

 

Also (and finally!), if I remove something from the "LiveEdit" view, how easy is it to return it? I can see that the LiveEdit feature allows the removal and moving of objects (sorry, modules!) so I'm guessing that it's all to do with the Positions area?
