maxmin
It is really important to have real-time APIs from major shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx and USPS integrated with the shipping module in the PrestaShop or it's basically useless for most of North American users. For the current version of PS, the users in north America basically cannot calculate the real-time shipping cost with each shipping carrier and it is real pain or impossible to specify the shipping rates for every pound for each carrier in the back officer.Other popular shopping carts such as Magento, ZenCart, and so on all have APIs from major shipping carriers integrated so that customers can get real-time shipping rates immediately when checkout. I wonder why PrestaShop hasn't integrated such important feature so far.

If so, they must have or prefer their own shipping carriers.
Hoodgrown
Magento was US built if I'm not mistaken so having US carriers were a priority. ZenCart is a fork of OsCommerce already had these shipping modules available (though not upon launch).Since a lot of these systems seem to be created outside the US.. having US shipping modules is usually not priority. At least initially.
DrÿSs'
You can create them and we'll add them to the solution
Hoodgrown
You can create them and we'll add them to the solution Same way it happened with Osc so I don't see that as too much of a problem. UPS and USPS modules are already in production and the author of the USPS module plans to create a Fed-Ex module (I think that's what I read) once this one is bug free. In fact, it would be really nice to see if this particular API could be integrated. http://rocketship.it/products/ups. They've already taken the guess work out of the UPS requirements.
