PrestaShop 1.2 Roadmap

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I think its the wrong forum, but I was not allowed to post in "News and releases".

* Where can I find the roadmap for PS 1.2 and future releases ?
* What is the expected time for a stable realease ?

I would like to know which features are planned, and WHEN they are (roughly) expected to be released !?

I am just about to implement a shop for a customer, and this information is needed to convince the customer to use PrestaShop!

Keep up the really great work.

Regards,
Hessellund

Does "Coming soon" mean "Coming in PrestaShop 1.2" ?
What about v. 1.3 or 2.0 ? Any plans?

Are there any bugfix releases planned ? 1.1.0.6 ?

Any timeframe available ?

I think I'm about to fall in love in PrestaShop, it really has potential for a great shop.

i don´t care what the plans are, but i know the plans are good

i know everybody is working hard

i´m sure all bugs will be fixed

and the forum and the team will come up with everything what is needed sooner or later

it is like building a house, if the fundament is strong and well planed the house will be safe in the future

@San Diego:

I do agree with you in most part.

Anyway, the future plans is of importance of my customer!

And I think planning might actually accelerate the development, as community participation would be easier, and less work be done twice.

sure you are right

but the team is bussy i rather have them work on the shop software than wasting their time right now
to answer thousand of email a day.

there are feature requests
and bug reports

there you can see what people want to do or need to be done
and the team will take care of it
ps is so flexible you can make all kinds of promises to your customer
if you dive into the forum and software you will find out

impossible is impossible hehe everything is possible if we help together

I guess it would not take many working hours to post a rough roadmap on the forum or the website.

At least some kind of rough scedule for ps 1.2.
* Are we talking 1,2 or 3 month until stable?

I will start implementing the shop 1. july, and I need to know if I should stick with 1.1 or go for 1.2 !?

I agree with you San Diego as it is after all a "free" program but also the upshot of it all is someone makes money out of it somewhere. They could make something of a roadmap (actually there is a sort of schedule in another post) and this would benefit people who are thinking of joining the prestashop community for instance if the tax issue was sorted then more and more businesses that need this facility would join and then presta would grow even quicker, thus more people would contibute and benefit from each other.
we cant complain as it is a good programme but what is a forum for, but to air each others views and come together to solve problems., Keep up the good work presta team it is one of the cleanest carts I know of.

I have the same questions,

I'm working on a store which is not 100% finished yet and we really want to start using it (migrating from Magento).
should I start using it with 1.1 and upgrade when 1.2 is stable or wait for 1.2 ?

For real shop is better to use stable version, maybe the development team decide at BETA 3 to change database or something else what will you do?

  • 2 months later...

Roadmaps are IMPORTANT... if not major industries would not be using them and releasing them to their partners...

it will centainly help us plan our stores better and to see how we can use PS to its full potential... it will centainly help in our expansion plans... it would be good too if PS can accept donations to help it grow... i certainly would not mind contributing to a good product like this...
