Mathilda L
Hi! My default language is Finnish and I had to translate a lot by myself. Now that I have my shop up and running I have noticed some "stupid" translations and I would like to change them. Problem is that the chances don´t update. I looked at the Prestashop tips for translation issues: "1. First, please check that you have set proper permission for all folders and language files. Folders 755, files 644. Check that related language files are create correctly by PrestaShop." -> from where can I check this and if I managed to translate them ones then this is probably not the issue "2. For module folder, if you have modified version under your theme folder, you also need to translate them separately. /modules/modulename/XX.pj /themes/themefolder/modules/modulename/XX.php ." -> I was pretty sure that this was the problem but I only found one of each translation. I also downloaded a new module "home new products" and when I tried to translate it nothing updated, same with the social media block. When I go back and check the translations, they are gone. Weirdly all the translations I made to my wishlist block at the same time stayed and updated?! Can someone tell me how to fix this? -M
Valérie Assetskaya
Hello, Please, try to create file with your locale, for instance fi.php, with the following content <?php global $_MODULE; $_MODULE = array(); In the module folder, which should be translated, if this file is already exists, it is necessary to set permissions to 777 Best regards
Dumbelo
Hello! You have entered to server side problem. I fought with this a lot. I assume if you do not know about folders permission, so then you are not hosting your site by yourself. I got help for this: Contact your host provider Tell that them need to check these PHP suhosin values (need to be these or translations are not saved): suhosin.get.max_vars 5000 max_input_vars 10000 After your server (where your website is installed) changes this values, the translations are saving again. I hope =). It can be that another suhosin values needs to be checked also, but I get to it after I can dig out my old info. And if these values are not helping. In finnish language: Jos jotain et ymmärtänyt, niin lähetä privaviestiä niin voin suomeksi selventää tarkemmin.
Mathilda L
Thank you for the answers! I am indeed not hosting my site and I just sent an email to ovh-hosting to check those values, let´s see what happens. I will keep you posted:) In finnish: Kiitos paljon vastauksesta! saas nähdä auttaako tämä. Voi olla että pistän privaa, jos ei homma selviä. Vaihdoin osan suomennoksista suoraan kansioista mutta onhan tämä vähän säätämistä minun tietotaidolla (tekemällä kyllä oppii:))
Mathilda L
I got the reply from my web hotel and they said the values can not be changed just like that because it would momentarily give some users a lot of "server space" and other users might experience slowness at the same time. They asked if I could do the translations in smaller quantities. I probably have to translate everything in the folders but since some folders have nothing in Finnish I would have to create the code and I am not good with that... Dumbelo: Ne sanoivat että tätä ongelmaa on esiintynyt aiemminkin mutta eivät voi muuttaa arvoja, miten sä onnistuit:)?
