AFemaleProdigy
In the previous versions of PS, there was an option to add "Deny from" and ip address to prevent users from accessing the website. I am not seeing that option anymore and read where the htaccess is generated automatically now. Which mean that manually adding anything to the htaccess would be a bad idea because the system will just overwrite it. So what options do we have no for banning users? I run stores with high numbers of scammers trying to rip us off. I really need that option to ban by ip address. Just closing an account does not prevent them from opening a new account with a different email. Thanks for the help!
Dreamtheme
You can ban their IP in your hosting provider control, however users can always use proxy's or public ip's so this won't help much.
AFemaleProdigy
Yes, I have discovered that banning by ip is not always a sure thing, but it has greatly reduced our chargebacks since we started doing that with the people who have had the same ip with every visit to our site. How can the ip be added to hosting, if not via htaccess? I am not familiar with that option on shared hosting.

AFemaleProdigy
I do find that to be inconvenient. The ideal situation would be for Prestashop to offer user ip banning. Logging into my hosting account every time I need to ban someone is not ideal. Thanks for the information though!
Dreamtheme
I agree with you, submit a suggestion for improvement on PrestaShop forge.
