pspahn
This is a bit of an arcane question, as I do not have any info which is likely to be asked, but I am curious to know what is a safe assumption for how many hours it would take to upgrade PrestaShop to 1.5. I have been offered a side project at work which involves updating to 1.5, but I fear that I will not have enough time to get this done by deadline. Unfortunately, I do not have access to their admin area, I don't know what version is currently being used, and I don't know about any modules that are installed. It looks like I will have to either accept this project or refuse it before I am given access to this information... awesome right? My gut tells me this could easily be a 40 hour project getting the store adapted to 1.5 (or longer), which if that is the case, I will likely refuse the project. Anyone have any guesstimates on how long the "average" PS upgrade should take?
bellini13
Unfortunately there is not an average answer here. It can be done within an hour, weeks or months. It all depends on what you have currently installed, and which version you are upgrading too. As you are already aware, what makes this challenging is the unknown. Are there custom modules that you need to upgrade? Is there a custom theme that needs to be upgraded, or will a new theme be installed? How many products, orders and customers are there. I would stress that you need access to the current site to analyze what is installed currently. I would pass on the opportunity if you lack the experience and/or cannot get these basic questions answered.

Bill Dalton
Very few scripts will run for two days. Have you tried refreshing your browser?
