Hoodgrown
Is it possible to get the Google Analytics module to work without setting up goals and the like? The only thing I've done is put my usercode in the correct field but it doesn't seem to track anything. Any advice would be welcomed.
Dave Egerton
Hi HoodgrownYou should just be able to add the tracking code at the footer of your pages (before closing body tag) and it should work. In google analytics, theer is an option to check the code it workingYou don't need to do anything else such as set-up goals etcIf its your petsright website, I could not see analytics code in the source, although you may have added the verify code for google webmasters
Hoodgrown
I had taken the code out because Prestashop seemed to clash with the Google javascript. In my previous 3 column design... the site would only load the first and middle column... not the footer or the left when it encountered the google code. Dave Egerton
I see, as you say maybe its clashing, I dont knowCould you add a namespace to the javaScript in Prestashop to see if its a clash and that fix's itI never had a clash using analytics code to be honest, but I have not used it yet on Prestashop

Dave Egerton
sorry, a namespace simply means adding something to the code so it will not clash with other javascript librariesfor example in css, as opposed to #column, you might have #pets_column so you know your rule will not clash with another rule. When using several javascript libraries for example, you could fall into a trap if each library styles the same element becuase its used commonly, such as #left, #header etcsee this article http://www.dustindiaz.com/namespace-your-javascript/
Hoodgrown
AHh ok... thanks.. i'll look into it....Woopra ran fine from Prestashop... but it's slow.. added another 10 seconds to my page load time so I got rid of it.This morning I just installed Piwik (http://piwik.org/) and that's running fine.... I might stick with that for my prestashop
