How to change order of products in each category

I am wanting to change the order of products within each category of my website, which what has been proposed to me is to use "featured items" to have the product feature at the top of the category

The problem with this is that some of the products are versatile and suit several categories, however would not be best suited to be the same position in every category

 

If anybody has a solution it would be hugely appreciated!

click any category, then simply move (drag or click the positing button) each products placement within that category.

 

each category can have have different placement of it's associated product. even if it's one product is in multiple categories...

Hi, can it be done in version 1.5.1 please? I can't seem to find it.

I also found it hard to find, A bit late but for the benefit of others.

 

For 1.5... go to Catalog --> Products --> √ Filter by category and select your category .... Now you can move them up and down with the arrow

I have more than 200 products in each category, so this is not possible use drag & drop method for product position. Is there any other method or module in market.
