fk59
hi, i have a copy of an existing shop. Is it possible to reset all orders, customers, articles etc. so that its like a new shop? All i need are the modules and settings (payment, shipping etc.) Or do i need a new shop? Thx, Frank
benjamin utterback
Hello fk39, it may be easier to install a new shop. Do you know the settings and configurations of the modules you need?

DBMAN
You could empty and reset the tables in the SQL database.
benjamin utterback
Hello DBMAN, if you reset the database, it will inherently reset the settings of the modules. I think he wants to keep his module configuration.
DBMAN
Yeah, not whole database just tables like customers, orders, etc.. Sorry if it wasn't clear. Don't think that will effect modules though I haven't looked extensively in the tables themselves and based on other experiences and not Presta. I'm interested if it will since at some point I will likely do the same. You would certainly know .
benjamin utterback
Hello DBMAN, I certainly can do my best to figure out what the problem is. I feel as if it would become more of a sticky situation by deleting and resetting tables in the Database, rather than, re-installing the software with noted and working configurations of the modules that you can implement again. DBMAN
Probably best, I do play things a little loose (though always have backups!) when I do this stuff and generally it is best not to mess with the SQL unless you really know what your doing. FK59, go with the new shop option as Benjamin suggests. Just write down all the settings or take screen shots. Really shouldn't take that long to rebuild.
benjamin utterback
Hello DBMAN, thank you for the back up, no pun intended , It's difficult to know the technical level our merchants are accustomed to. This is why I like to suggest a reinstall, however, if you are familiar with the database then by all means find out which tables you want to keep and which you want to replace. Even the most experienced users can come into problems. FK59, please let me and DBMAN know if this reinstall solved your issue. Thank you for choosing PrestaShop!
