Duplicate title tags caused by Send to a Friend module

Hi all,

 

I've noticed through Google Webmaster Tool that I have a lot of my products URL duplicated, in most of the cases it is caused by Send to a Friend module. For example:

 

Bicchieri Plastica Fucsia 270ml 12pz

 

 

/it/fucsia/196-bicchieri-plastica-fucsia.html

 

/modules/sendtoafriend/sendtoafriend-form.php?id_product=196

 

 

I've tryied to deactivate Send to a Friend module and doing "Fetch as Google", submitting URL and linked pages... it didn't solve the problem.

 

Could anyone kindly give me some idea?

I just had the same thing happen to me. I have only made the changes to my robots.txt file and not the suggested changes to my modules/sendtoafriend/sendtoafriend.php. Plan on waiting patiently for a week or so to see what happens.

 

Would appreciate it if someone would chime in and let me know if I should be doing something else too. Like telling Google about the changes (can that even be done???)

Looks like adding the changes to my robots.txt file is working. All of the duplicate title tags from the "send to a friend" module are gone. Down to 1 duplicate of the duplicate description tags. That should be gone soon.
