minh
I am now on v1.2.5 and looking for an upgrade. My main concern is finding a bug free and fast version. Since 1.5 still very new I am thinking of waiting for all bugs to be cleared out. So, what version should I go with, that is, what version below 1.5 would be the fastest bug free version in your experience?

Dumbelo
Hello! I am using PS 1.4.8.2, I upgraded from 1.3.6. Reasons were that I needed some payment modules and them were made for PS 1.4. PS 1.4 also offered more professional look themes than PS 1.3. The speed was no issue for me, both were fast enough. I like to say that take 1.4 just in this time. There are still too many issues upgrading to PS 1.5. Or wait some time and then upgrade to PS 1.5. I think that in my need all coolest and most needed modules are for PS 1.4 at this time. It is going to change after 1 year, of course all active people are updating these modules to PS 1.5 right now. In my point the fastest and most bug free version is now 1.4.9. I have not tried, but what I have read about it. But speed was not my issue right now, so no experience with this version.
Rhapsody
I am using 1.4.9.0 on 3 different shops. One started early with 1.3.2 and was upgraded over time. The 2nd started with 1.3.7 and has been upgraded. The final started with 1.4.7 and uses the newer "1.5 compatible theme". I have tried test shops upgrading all of these to 1.5.1.0 and have decided to stay with 1.4.9.0 until the bugs are worked out of the 1.5 release. Version 1.4.9.0 is very stable. If you use PayPal, you may find the older PayPal module from 1.4.8 works better - that's what I found. Many including me have issues with the newer PayPal module. PrestaShopDeveloper
If you need best performance, try 1.3.7.0.

clayton29657
Just to add some input I started off using 1.4.5.1 and only had 1 issue that was in manufs. section the meta title in seo would not over-ride the title name like in products section and was very easy to use thats only issue but since then I have upgraded to 1.4.9 with no issues at all so I would recommend using this version except paypal lol but who hasn't had issues Cheers and good luck Clayton Edited October 17, 2012 by clayton29657 (see edit history)

El Patron
it depends on your business goals if you want to use a mutlship (seo) stragety, then you should go to 1.5. Also lots of cool stuff is going to be written for 1.5 that will not be written for earlier versions, including 1.4. Lots of changes in 1.5 to make back leveling new modules a consideration for developers. before doing anything I suggest: Identify any after market modules you have installed and whether you need them or if so are they compatible with the release you want to migrate to. regardless of which version you choose you will need a new tempalte, it try an upgrade your old template would be courting disaster. me I would go 1.5...it can't be any harder than going 1.2 to 1.4.9... suerte

moy2010
Does anybody else have a new opinion on this matter? I'm currently in PS 1.4.8 but I need to upgrade soon. I've been looking for PS 1.5, but it's very slow for my needs. And 1.4.9 looks nice and fast, but the problems that people have described with Paypal make me afraid :S. I hope that in the next versions, the prestashop team will focus on performance so more merchants migrate to PS 1.5.X
Bill Dalton
According to this thread PrestaShop v1.4.9 is — on average — is 321% faster than its predecessor. It also claims the number of PHP function calls has been significantly reduced in v1.4.9 — as compared to v1.4.8.3. This means v1.4.9 functions with much greater efficiency. I assume this would have also been carried forward to 1.5X one would think. http://www.prestashop.com/blog/en/upgrade-your-online-store-to-prestashop-v1-4-9/

noesac
I was about to get ready to upgrade to 1.4.9 until I saw this thread. Didn't think there would be a 1.4.10. I know there's no release date yet but based on past releases, any one have a guess on roughly how long it's going to be?
