cannot set shipping keeps saying free shipping

Same here Plugy! Doesn't matter if I delete everything and create new ones, setting weight and price ranges...it still keeps saying FREE SHIPPING! Plus, trying to checkout, doesn't give me the option to select a carrier!

 

So frustrated. Can't find any help in the User's Guide or on YouTube. Think I'll have to find another shopping cart program. Anyone have any suggestions?

All of you have prestashop 1.5? I have same problem (in 1.5), I cant set any fee, after setting price range, the fee table under carrier select is empty... Cannot change the carrier position too...

 

OK, found that!!:-D

 

1,) You must have setted in Shipping -> Shipping: Billing to According to total price OR weight (whatever you want to using)

 

2,) Then just create Price (weight) range for this carrier

 

3,) Finally, you can set at the bottom of Shipping -> Shipping price fees

Same problem. Disabled all carriers except UPS Ground. Selected USP Ground for product. Put product in cart and only get free shipping! I'm either missing something or there's a serious bug. Prestashop was looking promising but if this can't be fixed will have to move along.

I am having a similar problem. I deleted the "sample" carrier, added my own, set the zones, set up the prices by weight.

 

The system has ADDED two carriers (that do NOT show up on the carriers page) that offer free shipping.

 

No matter WHICH carrier is selected when checking out, the system calculates free shipping. I have had my eCommerce site down for DAYS trying to fix this.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem here.  PS 1.5.5.0.

I deleted the default carrier, added my own. 

The carrier shows fine under "Estimate the cost of shipping & taxes." with price $45.  But when you selected and hit "Update Cart" BOOM, "Shipping" above displays "Free Shipping!".

The Shipping Estimator in my opinion should be disabled. It does not update the taxes or shipping based on the zip code entered.

 

Does it still say Free Shipping when you get to checkout? 

 

Disable the Shipping Estimator. See how the user experience is.

Disable the Shipping Estimator. See how the user experience is. 

 

With the Shipping Estimator disabled.  I still get "Free Shipping!" in the cart step #1 Summary.

The shipping cost is properly assigned in the cart step #4 Shipping.

I am new to Presta-Shop. I am having the same problem as discussed above. I deleted the default "my carrier." I created one carrier, USPS. I set fees, price range, and weight for USPS. When I get to check out in my cart, it still lists "my carrier" as an option along with free shipping. It correctly lists USPS with the correct shipping fee. When I disable USPS, under the "fees" heading, it shows that I have free shipping (i.e. my carrier has not been deleted even though it's not showing on the list of carriers when I go to shipping/carriers). How do I get rid of the free shipping option in my check out/cart? Thanks for any help. UGH. I've spent hours trying to figure this out.

Try making another carrier named my carrier. Do you have the link to your store?

I figured it out!  I created just one carrier (USPS), set the price, ranges, zones etc. and clicked "no" in the free shipping yes/no box. When I got to the cart, there were two shipping options, one for USPS (with the correct shipping charge) and one for "my carrier" with "free shipping listed." After hours of trying to figure this out, I went back to the "free shipping" yes/no box and clicked "yes." When I did that, I found a default "my carrier" listed. Once I deleted "my carrier" from that screen, the free shipping option disappeared from my cart.

 

So, if you are having this problem, even though you have checked "no" in the box for "free shipping," you also have to check "yes" in that box You will then see "my carrier" listed as a default carrier. You must then delete the default "my carrier" shipper and you will be left with the carrier(s) that you created when you checked "no" in the yes/no free shipping box.

 

Good luck. My head hurt after this one!

You clicked free shipping in the USPS configuration? Then you delete MyCarrier? I thought you had already deleted the carrier MyCarrier from the back office previously. Could you help us understand?

Good Morning Benjamin. My recollection is that I set up USPS as a carrier and clicked "no" in the yes/no free shipping box. Then, when I got to the check out portion, "my carrier" showed up as a free shipping option. Then I went back to the yes/no free shipping box and clicked "yes." That's where I discovered that "my carrier" was listed. I then deleted "my carrier" from the list and reclicked the "no" option in the yes/no free shipping box.

 

My mistake was thinking that, by clicking "no" in the free shipping box, there would not be a free shipping carrier option in the check out process. I never thought to look at whether there were carriers listed under the "yes" option in the free shipping box, as I didn't plan to use free shipping.

 

Hope that makes sense.

Not exactly. "My carrier" was  not listed as a carrier option when I clicked the "no" in the free shipping box. Only USPS was listed there.Therefore, it wasn't a matter of changing "my carrier" to no free shipping. Rather, I had to click "yes" on the free shipping box, see that "my carrier" was listed there (as a default, because I did not list it there), and delete it from the list.

I decided to jump in here because while my problem is not exactly the same, I am having a "Free Shipping" display issue with the shipping estimator .. In brief, when a non-US customer uses the shipping estimator and clicks "Update Cart", it displays Free Shippijng and does not add the shipping cost to the total

 

My shipping configuration is extremely simple - I have two options for US delivery and one option for delivery to Canada (I plan to add more) I do not have free shipping defined anywhere and deleted the "My Carrier" default carrier from the carrier list. Shipping cost is based on the total cost of the order.

 

The customer adds items to their cart and then goes to the cart summary where they see the shipping estimator. No shipping is displayed when they arrive on that page, since I edited blockcart.tpl to not display any shipping cost until the customer starts checking out or uses the shipping estimator in the cart summary. If a customer enters a US state/zip, chooses an option and clicks 'update cart', everything works fine. The shipping cost displays, and the cart summary updates.

 

HOWEVER, if a customer chooses Canada as their country, and then clicks update cart, FREE SHIPPING displays and the total cost does not change. Where would this be coming from? I do not have ANY free shipping defined anywhere for any carrier. I did replace blockcart.tpl with the original file and Free Shipping still displays when the above steps are follwed.

 

Is there any solution to this problem? At this point, I am just removing the shipping estimator altogether.
