Tax Applied Twice (Double Tax) for California Tax

I've used the method recommend on this site to set up my tax amounts. But I've recently upgraded and noticed a problem. I have it set so that anyone ordering from California gets a 9% tax applied to their order.

Instead of just applying 9 percent, it applies to the product AND the total essentially tacking on the tax twice. So it shows the item price as increased and then taxes the whole order again, making the total almost double the tax amount, why is this happening? Did I set something wrong?

I'm dealing with the same problem actually.

 

It does the same as you describe it, but it doesn't calculate the tax twice, but it adds some amount to Total and to that total price it adds taxes. Don't know where it's getting it's first increase.

 

Check if the taxes are actually calculated twice or the first one is some weird percentage, that I can't explain.
