Transferring database from old version

Hi -I need to set up a new installation of Prestashop v1.5 on new hosting. Rather than upgrading from an old version to a new one, I just want to copy across the database from the existing site to the new installation.

 

Is it possible for me to copy across the database from version 1.1 to 1.5 ?

 

If not, is there an earlier version I need to copy to first?

 

Note, I'm not asking about upgrading, just about moving the database from one place to another as I don't want to risk any damage to the current online business.

why not just create a test system with your existing product site, and try different upgrade/cutover options on the test site? Find one that works for your and then you will know how to proceed.

 

anything else would be just guessing
