Changalang
Here is the info that can be referenced to my installation. Server information Prestashop Version: 1.4.8.2 Server information: Linux #1 SMP Wed Mar 7 15:20:22 MSK 2012 i686 Server software Version: Apache PHP Version: 5.2.6-1+lenny16 MySQL Version: 5.0.51a-24+lenny5 ----------------------------------------- I have installed a new version of PS and also installed a theme. There is a module called TM Nivo Slider 1.4, which displays rotating header banners on the homepage. I am trying to add/delete the banners but when I click 'Save' it gives me an error: Unable to update the editor file. Please check the editor file's writing permissions. I've done searches for the past hour to figure out the permission issue but am not able to. Some posts are saying to CHMOD the /modules/editorial/editorial.xml file but I believe that is in the older versions of PS. The one I have installed, version 1.4.8.2, does not include the editorial.xml file. Can anyone help with this issue? I'm at a total loss how to edit the content in this module. How do I "check the editor file's writing permissions"? Thanks in advance!
Changalang
Oh, I forgot to mention that on ALL files and directories in the /modules/editorial/ permissions are 777 right now. editorial.xml does not exist. There are editorial.tpl and editorial.php files which are both 777.

klo
I had a similar problem using JQuery Pisces Slider 1.0 and PrestaShop 1.4.5. I solved it setting 777 permissions to modules/piscesslider and all subdirectories. I hope this can help you.
