How to add PayPal Fee?

V12

Recommended Posts

Well I take 3 forms of Payment, if you look at the average order value the Fee is considerable, a €60 PP fee isn't unusual.

Currently it's incorporated in the VAT pricing (ex, 21% + 3.9%)

But that's unfair for VAT pay customers that opt for bank transfer.

Nether is it help full for international sales where VAT does not apply

I use this module: https://addons.prestashop.com/en/other-payment-methods/28289-payment-with-fee-paypal-stripe-cod-bank-wire-etc.html

It allows to add a fee amount (by percentage or a fixed a mount) to official Paypal module as well as any other payment modules of Prestashop. You can try it.

Generaly YES but there are situations where its needed. For example non profit shop.

any serious shop would not do this, mainly because in 'most' cases it is against the payment gateway policy..

if you a hobby shop, sure go ahead and do it....

I think every shop has to do this, paypal fee is to high, and customers like paypal for stupied reasons they "trust" paypal but not the shop, actually every serious shop has to do it.. let customers trust us because we are serious not because we use paypal. so if thy like to pay by paypal to feel better let them pay the fee.

Keep in mind the following PayPal policy which prohibits surcharges...

Quote

No surcharges

You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

So if one of your customer open a Dispute or a claim on PayPal, you will be in fault and you will lose the money.

Probably easier to reward people with a discount for paying via bank transfer.

That would be completely acceptable in terms of PP user agreement.
